The Power of Words Festival (POW), led by North Lincolnshire Council, will put words at the heart of communities across North Lincolnshire, enabled by an ambitious series of projects and events in July 2018 focused around three activity strands of comics, stories and games.
As part of this the team at Curly's are very happy to be involved in supporting a family fun run allowing families to start the day off with a walk, jog or run around the grounds of Normanby Hall.
If you're feeling brave and powerful you are very welcome to come dressed up as your favourite story, book or comic character (fancy dress is optional) You might even sport a few Where's Wally's along the way!!!
All junior fun runners will receive a medal, sweets and water at the end of the event... plus plenty of support. The event is just for fun so we wont be timing or giving prizes but we may have a few surprises on the day and please collect your number from 09:30 in front of the hall :)
Approximately 3k, the race takes place safely within the grounds of Normanby Country Park and is open to all junior runners. Adults are free to accompany their child around the course.
The programme, aimed at families, will include a festival launch day, artist workshops, live outdoor theatre, music and storytelling performances , interactive family games and much more. POW will begin with a festival day at Normanby Hall Country Park on Sunday 1 July. The programmed activities will use the magical garden spaces at this stunning location, that will inspire families to explore words and literature in different ways.
